The Smithsonian museums have a slew of film, lectures and performances in celebration of Black History Month. Most of these events and activities are free.

Feature Event

The Institution will kick off Black History Month at the National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian American Art Museum Saturday, Feb. 4, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with its “Black History Month Family Day” celebration.
